What is an Intercessory Missionary?

An intercessory missionary is one who is called to a lifestyle of prayer and worship and who is also committed to the forerunner message, and to spiritually equipping ourselves and preparing others for the unique dynamics of the generation in which the Lord returns.   One of the first intercessory missionaries and evangelists in the Bible was named Anna.  In Luke 2:36 it says, “she never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying” to prepare for the first coming of Jesus.  King David is another intercessor who is mentioned in 1 Chr. 23 – 25, and who organized and paid 4,000 musicians and 288 singers to worship God night and day.

How did God Call Me to Missions?

Although seeds of ministry were sown into my heart throughout my teenage years, it wasn’t until I was 35 years old that God called me into full-time missions at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City, MO. in 2007.  I had been working in corporate America for about 12 years when the Lord started speaking to me about “surrendering control.”  Through a two-way devotional journal, He was asking if I was willing to surrender control of my day timer, my alarm clock, my watch…..those things that we put in place to bring structure to our life.  Was I willing to let Him break into my agenda?  As I said “yes,” I felt His thankful heart, but compelling heart saying, “Will you trust Me with everything?”  I proceeded to verbally give Him my home, car, money, family, and all that I had, and found tears streaming down my face with a very real awareness that something deep was taking place.  Shortly after that day, I celebrated my birthday by going skydiving, and the Lord spoke to me that morning and said, “What you’re doing today is a prophetic act because I’m going to ask you to jump off the edge with Me.”  Little did I know that within thirty days, He was going to ask me to quit my job of 11 years and move to another city 9 hours away and become a missionary.

What is the International House of Prayer?

The International House of Prayer (IHOP-KC) is a community of believers committed to God, each other, and to establishing and maintaining a 24/7 house of prayer in Kansas City, Missouri—a perpetual solemn assembly gathering corporately to fast and pray, in the spirit of the tabernacle of David.   They are committed to praying for the release of the fullness of God’s power and purpose, as they actively win the lost, heal the sick, feed the poor, make disciples, and impact every sphere of society—family, education, government, economy, arts, media, religion, etc.  Their vision is to work in relationship with the Body of Christ to serve the Great Commission, as we seek to walk out the two great commandments to love God and people.

How Did I Come to Move to Georgia?

I was sovereignly connected with a global missions organization called Operation Mobilization (OM) in February 2012 through a friend in Ohio, which led to me going on a short-term missions trip with them in July 2012.  The specific outreach was called Transform, and a team of us were going to minister in dance and intercession in the Mediterranean region.  During this 3-week trip to Rome and Malta, I experienced the joy of coming alongside the local churches and believers to strengthen them in prayer and intercession, as well as the power of breaking strongholds over the region through prophetic worship and dance.  As we ministered in the streets and among the natives in a variety of settings, I felt my heart falling in love with the Maltese people and the Mediterranean region.  But, one day imparticular I was walking from the bus station to prayer room, and God encountered me in a dramatic way saying, “This is who you are!!!”  As tears streamed down my face, I knew that something huge was happening.  By the end of the trip, the Lord had completely gripped my heart for the region and confirmed His call on my life for the nations.  Upon returning to the states, the Lord continued to order my steps to work alongside OM as a volunteer, and within three months, He moved me to their headquarters in Tyrone, GA.

How Can You Pray For Me?

Three basic ways that you can be praying for me is:

1. For strength in the inner man, and that I would be rooted and grounded in love. (Eph. 3:16,17)
2. For physical and spiritual protection  (Eph. 6:10-18)
3. For God’s presence to come, for chains to fall off, and for souls to be saved, healed, and delivered as I lead others in praise and worship.  (Luke 16:25-29)
