If God Is For Us

Posted on Jul 29, 2015 in Blog Posts, Ministry, Prayer, Uncategorized

Pressures have been mounting on every side the past few weeks and yesterday hit a pinnacle point.  As I awoke this morning, I had a song in my spirit that I hadn’t listened to in quite a few years.  It’s from Romans 8:31-38 and is one of those songs that gets your blood pumping and your spirit jumping.  Even while laying in bed remembering the tune and lyrics, I could feel my spirit stirred.  I got up, dug the song out from my cd collection, and as soon as it started playing I could feel strength rising up in my heart.  As I stood worshiping and dancing to it in my bedroom, I felt like a warrior wielding my weapon of worship and demolishing the powers of darkness (2 Cor. 10:4). Aren’t you so thankful for the Holy Spirit who is always there helping us, reminding us, and whispering just what we need to hear when we need to hear it?  I know I am.  There’s no one else like Him…and He lives in us!!   Earlier in Rom.8, verse 26 talks about how the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us.  Life can often present challenges and situations that we just don’t know how to pray for, but thank goodness we don’t have to know.  We just have to be connected to the One who knows how to pray and come into agreement with what He is saying (Rom. 8:27).  In the midst of it all, as we continue to love God and walk in His purposes for us, verse 28 assures us that God will use all things to work out for our good.  Therefore, we can boldly declare what this song says…..if God is for us, who can be against us? If God is for us, Who can be against us? He who gave His only Son, died to save us all. It is Christ who died and rose again and is sitting at the right hand of God. Who can separate us from that kind of love? Not death, not life, not angels, nor demons. Not powers, nor things present nor the things to come. Not height, not depth, nor any other creature Can separate us from the love of God. Click here to listen to the song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4IQW2Zuf9o    ...

Bringing Light to the Darkness

Posted on Jul 29, 2015 in Blog Posts, Ministry, Prayer

The other week my husband and I found ourselves prayer walking the campus of a liberal arts school in the area and admiring the beauty of the 150-year-old stone buildings.  They were breathtakingingly beautiful and looked like castles in England versus school rooms and dorms, but in spite of the beauty on the outside, much darkness prevailed in the rituals, teachings, and beliefs of the institution.  One annual event imparticular encourages students to welcome and celebrate sin as something to be prized and to mock what is holy, pure, and good. As we continued to walk and pray, we came to the chapel building and noticed the doors were open.  We entered into a magnificent sanctuary filled with pews, stained glass windows, and intricately carved angels lining the ceiling.  A large grand piano sat silent at the front of the chapel, and as we approached it, my husband encouraged me to play something.  I hesitantly proceeded to sit down, place my fingers on the keys, and open my heart to what the Lord might have me play, and as I did something beautiful happened. That empty, cold, dark room turned into a sanctuary in heaven declaring the beauty and holiness of the One true living God.  It was amazing.  I felt like I was back in a prayer room again and that the Lord was giving us a glimpse of what we are called to do here in NY…to go where He tells us to go and bring His glory down.  To worship Him and declare the name of Jesus Christ in the dark places where His name is not acknowledged or revered.  To lift Him up not necessarily before man, but before the throne of God and invite His presence to come and to fill that place. For the next 1 1/2 hours, we danced, we sang, we worshiped, we prayed, and we felt the peace and the presence of God in a powerful way.  Just as Ezekiel prophesied to the dry bones to live, I sensed we were prophesying life to the very foundations of that institution and to all who were to come in that place….light to their eyes, hope to their hearts, and faith to believe that there is a God and His name is Jesus. The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;  Who is he, this King of glory?  The Lord Almighty — he is the King of glory.  Psalm 24:1, 10...

Oh Happy Day

Posted on Jul 1, 2015 in Blog Posts, Uncategorized

Thank you to everyone for your prayers, thoughts, and words of blessing for me and my new husband!  On June 14th, we were married at Changepoint Church in Poughkeepsie, NY with a small group of friends and family as witnesses.  It was truly a blessed day and we were so thankful to have loved ones there to celebrate with us. We opened the ceremony with a time of worship and welcoming the Holy Spirit as it was our desire to honor and acknowledge Him first in all that was done. “Holy Spirit You Are Welcome Here” is still our prayer as we begin our new life together.  Click here to listen to the song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFByOX8Fb0M We pray the words to this song bless and encourage you!  ...

Changepoint

Posted on Jul 1, 2015 in Blog Posts, Uncategorized

What is a Changepoint? A changepoint is a pin in the map of your life.  It’s a place where God changes your direction, your perspective, and even your destination.  It could be anything from a sudden car accident/injury to a quiet epiphany while you’re drinking your morning coffee.  Either way, one thing is the same as you look back at it in hindsight….you know God was unmistakably present and active. With the whirlwind of leaving GA, moving to NY, and getting married in the past 6 weeks, I have undoubtedly experienced a major changepoint in my life, and am quite honestly still in a bit of a tailspin from the sudden changes.  Just the other day while watching the news on TV, they showed a picture of the city’s skyline and I sat there staring at it thinking, “Where am I? Cincinnati?  Atlanta?”  It actually took a little while for me to remember that I was in NEW YORK!!  Agh!  Thank the Lord, HE knows where I am and that HE is the one holding me steady even when I feel unstable. In the midst of it all, I’m thankful that God is the one constant in life who NEVER changes. “I am the Lord.  I do not change.”  Malachi 3:6 “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?”  Numbers 23:19 “He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”  1 Samuel 15:29 “God, who is enthroned from of old, who does not change— he will hear them and humble them, because they have no fear of God.”  Psalm 55:19 Whatever changes or changepoints you may be facing today, I pray God’s word of Truth brings stability, hope, and peace to your heart today....
