Goodbyes and Hellos

Posted on May 27, 2015 in Arts, Blog Posts, Ministry, Prayer

Last weekend, I was so blessed to have 2 very special goodbye parties with friends in GA, and so glad that Mike could be there with me to meet all of them.  We were filled to overflowing with words of love, prayers, and encouragement and were truly sent off with their blessing. May 20th, we loaded up the UHaul with all of my belongings, and safely made it to NY after 23 hours of driving.  (Thank you, Mike, for coming down to get me and doing all of the driving and thank you to everyone who helped us pack and load the truck!  We couldn’t have done it without you)! 🙂 The LORD is so good to not only give me friends just 20 mins away from my new home in NY, but to also provide a place for me to store my silk painting supplies at their 250+ acre children’s camp.  These are friends that I have known for the past 2.5 years from GA who recently moved back to NY. The camp is amazing and will be having 800+ kids come this summer.  They are wanting to establish a prayer room with silk painting, worship dance, and more, so the kids can encounter God in new and creative ways.  So, we are praying and excited about what the LORD might do with us working/ministering together!! Please pray with us for God’s provision, wisdom, and guidance and for the Braunlin family as they run the camp. Expect To Win

Posted on May 27, 2015 in Blog Posts, Ministry, Uncategorized

“The LORD Himself goes before you and will be with you.  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid.  Do not be discouraged.”  Deut. 31:8 Over the past 6 weeks, the Lord has continued to give me this scripture as a word of encouragement through this major transition of moving to NY and preparing for marriage.  Two days before my first trip to NY in April, my pastor preached a sermon called, “Expect to Win” using this scripture as a main reference, and he encouraged us to “Go where God is going before you and expect to win!”  God is so good and knows just what we need to hear when we need to hear it! He spoke of “5 Winning Lessons” of a winner: 1. Winners know they can’t win alone.  – Jesus sent the 12 disciples out 2 by 2. (Luke 10:1) 2. Winners put the gifts that God gave them to use. –  The Body needs the gifts that God has given you.  Show up for practice and use them!  (Romans 12:3-21) 3.  Winners trust God to provide all their needs. – Luke 9:2-4 – And he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.  He told them: “Take nothing for the journey—no staff, no bag, no bread, no money, no extra shirt.” 4. Winners do not fear persecution or rejection from the world. – Don’t let other’s response to you define you. (Luke 9:5) 5. Winners take no glory for themselves. – The gift is yours, but the glory is HIS.  (Luke 10:17-20) In this next season of ministry, I’m thankful that God is sending me out with a partner (who is also my friend and soon-to-be-husband) to use the gifts He has given us for His glory.  We believe we are called to walk in radical faith and obedience only following God’s voice and trusting Him for everything even in the face of persecution and rejection. I knew I needed to paint this scripture on a silk before I left GA and use it in my worship.  I saw the Lion of Judah going before us leading with the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night.  Darkness and opposition was all around us, but as we followed HIM, his promises rained down on us and we crossed the Red Sea on dry land. This same promise is true for YOU.  Take it and run with it.  Better yet, run with HIM knowing that wherever He goes, there is...

Love Mission – Part 2

Proverbs 13:12 says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.”  After 18 years of waiting for the Lord to fulfill His promise to me of bringing me a husband, HE IS FINALLY HERE!!! :))   Not in the way I expected nor when I expected…but in God’s perfect way and time.  🙂  Amidst the long and hard 18-year journey I had given up hope countless times, but clinged to the promise that the Lord spoke to me in 2003 that He had not forgotten me, and that He was protecting and preparing me for my husband.  Year after year would pass, and although the desire to be married lessened at times, it still remained.  God was good, though, and faithful to keep my heart towards him even through the most painful valleys. It was during one of those most painful valleys almost 4 years ago when the Lord had me look up the meaning of the number 18 and showed me that it meant “Life.”  (In the Hebrew system, every letter has a numerical value and the Hebrew word for life (chai) has the value of 18).   In that particular season, I needed to know that the suffering that had taken place in my life over a period of 18 days was not unto death, but unto life.  In the same way, these 18 years of waiting, longing, suffering, hoping, and grieving were not in vain…but unto purpose, prosperity, and life. I have learned and continue to learn that God is VERY intentional.  He does nothing by accident or happenstance, but he is very strategic, deeply personal, and oh so into the details.  When the Lord moved me and my ministry to GA 2.5 years ago, I really didn’t understand why.  I loved being at IHOP-KC and serving in the House of Prayer there.  But when I started attending my new church in GA, I met a friend of Mike’s who had known him for 10 years and who told him about me (because Mike lived in upstate NY and was looking for a Godly wife :)).   Unbeknowns to me, over these past 2.5 years Mike was praying for me and following my ministry on FB…asking the Lord what he should do.  Finally, in the early part of this year, Mike felt the “OK” from God to pursue contacting me.  We instantly felt that this was a God-connection, soon began courting, and as they say….the rest is history 🙂 What really blew me away was when Mike proposed to me just days before the 18th anniversary of my divorce (and he didn’t even know it)!  He proposed on the 18th day of the month.  It was just the whip cream, nuts, and cherry on top of an already awesome event, and it shouted from the heavens, “None of this 18-year wait was in vain or unto death… but it was unto LIFE!  New LIFE is here!  Your new season is here!”  Only God could orchestrate such a thing. We are excited for our future together and are planning to be married June 14th in upstate NY at Mike’s church….just 3 weeks after I move there.  More details to come on what we’ll be doing in NY…. We are amazed and in awe of God’s goodness, faithfulness, and timing, and truly hope to be a witness and encouragement to others that God truly holds our times in His hands and will give us the very best when we wait on Him.    ...

Love Mission – Part 1

Posted on May 13, 2015 in Ministry, Uncategorized

Two months ago during an awesome worship service at my church, we were caught up in the awesome presence of God when I heard the Lord speak clearly to me, “It is finished.”  I listened….“You have done what I called you to do and now I’m sending you somewhere else.”  “Somewhere else?” I was a bit shocked to hear that He was having me leave my church that I loved so much, but also felt peace at the same time.  I was reminded of my last day in Malta 1.5 years ago after an amazing ministry trip.  I was sitting outside in the streets where we had been ministering and was thanking the Lord for all that He did through us when He said those same words in that same steady voice...”It is finished.  You have done what I have called you to do.  Well done.”  In that moment, I knew that as much as I loved that land and the people there, if I never came back it would be ok. Then, last month on the plane ride to NY, I was journaling and asking the Lord what this trip was all about and felt Him say, “I’m setting you up for launching.”  He began to explain that He was getting ready to teach me how to love deeper, richer, and wider through the people in NY….that it’s easy to love those who love me (like my awesome GA friends), but not so easy to love those who don’t love me.  Then, He said, “I’m sending you on a Love Mission,” and told me that I’m going to learn more about receiving love, being love, and then giving love. 1.  RECEIVE LOVE  – Learn more what God’s love is (what it looks like, how to receive it freely, and how to believe in it). 2.  BE LOVE  – Live in God’s love.  Jump in with both feet, be completely submerged in it and live there until it completely consumes you and fills you up leaving no room for anything else (fear, doubt, worry, etc.). 3.  GIVE LOVE – Out of the place of being completely full of God’s love, let it overflow out of you on to everyone to come in contact with…not just friends and family, but with strangers, co-workers, and even enemies.  Give and keep on giving. As I think about launching, I think about how the kingdom of God is upside-down.  The way UP is down. The way IN is out.  So, the way to launch is to go deeper….deeper in humility, deeper in love, deeper in God.  Just as a rock in a slingshot has to be pulled back and stretched before it’s launched, so must I be pulled back and stretched.  To not just go low, but to stay low. Not just to be humble, but to be happy…wherever I’m placed, no matter the situation or the circumstance. So, the countdown is on.  Today I started packing up my office/studio space, and in only six days I’ll be on my way to my new home in NY and officially starting on my Love Mission.  Anyone want to join me on this mission?  Together we can change the world. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.  1 Peter...

Ripples and Multiplication

Posted on May 9, 2015 in Arts, Blog Posts, Ministry, Prayer, Uncategorized

John 12:24 – “Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” With the news that the Lord was moving me and my ministry to NY, one of the big prayers and questions was “What is going to happen with EMERGE??”  Over the past 1.5 years, we’ve been blessed to see many from the community gather in prayer and worship through the creative arts and experience God bringing freedom to their heart.  It didn’t make sense that it should close.  I had hopes that the Lord might raise up a core group of people to take on the monthly rent and carry it on, but as I surrendered my will to the Father and released this “baby” to Him, He brought a wonderful word of encouragement and confirmed that everything IS going to continue and grow….just not within these 4 walls. During prayer, my friend saw a vision of the 4 walls of EMERGE being pushed out and going down so that everything that has been going on here can be released to the surrounding area and beyond and that that was the main purpose of EMERGE.  Here is part of the word that she got: “I saw EMERGE like a stone that has been thrown into the water and has gone to the bottom like it’s supposed to.  But, you are not to mourn and have your eyes on the stone sinking to the bottom because the purpose of EMERGE was to cause ripples on the water, and as the ripples move out, they multiply. This is what has happened here, and now that you’re moving to NY, another stone is going to be thrown out there and you’re going to see ripples there as well.”  It has been so exciting to hear this word and to see doors open and people rise up who are carrying it on in their sphere of influence.  The heart of EMERGE has been to teach, train, and equip the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:12,13), and it’s been such a gift to be able to do that with such special people. Just as I was blessed to have spiritual moms pour these things into me and equip me, so have I been blessed to pour these tools into others.  My heart is full thinking of all the Lord has done in this space and so it is with great joy that I continue on my journey with my pouch full of stones and prepare for the next...
