Beauty for Ashes

And they overcame him (the accuser of the brethren) by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.  Rev. 12:11 Last July while I was on sabbatical, the Lord spoke to my heart about being more intentional about making the main focus of His Jewel about the restoration of women.  This past week in Columbus, Ohio, I was blessed to have the Lord open the door for me to speak at my first two women’s gatherings and share my testimony of redemption, healing, and wholeness.  It was a blessed time of sharing and inviting each woman into deeper levels of freedom through the Divine exchange of beauty for ashes (Isa. 61). Here’s a YouTube clip from my testimony at Northside Church: I love that the Lord is so jealous for our hearts….jealous for them to be whole and healed and to know His great love for us more and more.  During the time of reflection, each person asked the Lord to show them an area that He wanted to speak truth in.  Many responded through journaling and walking up to the table to exchanging the lie (stone) for the truth (jewel).  Others shared with the whole group what the Lord had showed them.  It was amazing to watch the Lord move uniquely and intimately throughout the room. Please pray for the seeds of truth that were planted in hearts to go deep, take root, and to bring NEW...

Let There Be Peace On Earth

Posted on Jan 28, 2015 in Blog Posts, Dance, Ministry, Prayer

This past weekend in Cincinnati, Ohio, I had the greatest honor of dancing in my friend’s mother’s Memorial Service with the 9-year-old great granddaughter, Riley.  I can’t even begin to say how much of a blessing it was, and how privileged I felt that God would choose me to dance in honor of such a beautiful 90-year-old woman.  Jean was a woman of prayer and prayed daily for peace.  So, when we asked Howard (her 93-year-old husband) what song he’d like me to dance to, “Let There Be Peace On Earth” was his first request.  Although it’s a well-known song from the 1950’s that has traveled around the globe, I had not heard it before.  As I sat in his living room listening to the Vince Gill version, I was overcome with tears and couldn’t help but see me dancing with a little girl…particularly when the little child starting singing in the last half of the song.  When I asked if there was a little girl in the family, Riley immediately came to mind. As God would have it, every detail had already been beautifully orchestrated.  Just the fact that I was in Cincinnati at the time of Jean’s passing was amazing (since I live in Atlanta).  But, I was also scheduled to be ministering in Columbus, Ohio, for the next 10 days which is where Riley lived.  So, we were able to practice each day that week.  What a gift to dance with this amazing little girl!  Looking into her face and seeing her smile at me while we danced touched my heart with SUCH joy!  I just LOVED it and so did she.  We’d giggle and laugh and had such fun choreographing each move together.  It later struck me, “This is how the Father feels EVERY time we look up at Him with our big eyes and bright smiles and dance with Him!!”  He LOVES it and it fills His heart with joy! That day couldn’t have been more perfect…Howie sitting in the front row with his daughter’s arm around him, Riley and I dressed in white flowy dresses (just like Howard wanted), beautiful red roses representing his beloved Jean, and the song that played in their hearts daily.  May this be all of our prayers: Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me. Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be.  With God as our Father, brothers all are we.  Let me walk with my brother in perfect harmony. (Chorus) Let peace being with me: let this be the moment now.  With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow.  To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally; let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me.
