O, The Deep Love of Jesus

When I found out I was going to visit the Logos Hope, I asked God to give me a special time with Him on the bow of the ship during sailing….yes, to do the traditional “Titanic” pose, but more so just so I could dance for Him while at sea.  I mean, how often do you get to do that?  I had the song all picked out in my head that I wanted to dance to, and really didn’t want anyone else to be around to watch which may have been a small miracle to ask for considering there are 400 people on the ship.  But still, I asked. 🙂 When we set sail Sunday, it was glorious and exciting.  But, by Monday morning I was feeling the affects of the sea and had to stay in bed all day sleeping, resting, and of course taking sea sickness pills 🙂  I learned that it’s very important to keep food in your stomach when you’re sailing and so I was sure to still eat breakfast and lunch (thanks to Rachel bringing it to my cabin for me).  But, my goal was to be up and around by dinner time.  So, by 3:00pm I got cleaned up and showered, and then around 4:00pm I heard the faint whisper in my heart, “Go out on the bow.”  My cabin was on level 5 and just a few steps away from the door that goes out on the bow of the ship.  So, out I went with my music and ear buds all in hand and walked to the front of the bow of the ship.  It was every bit as glorious as I hoped it would be.  The only thing that wasn’t working was my music.  I wanted to dance to the “Oceans – Where Feet May Fail” song, but it wouldn’t play.  Instead, it kept jumping ahead to the next song, “O, the Deep Love of Jesus.”  Over and over again I tried to play “Oceans,” but each time it automatically jumped to the “Love of Jesus” song.  After praying, rebuking the devil out of my iPhone, and all other efforts failed, I finally gave up and thought, “Fine, I’ll guess it’ll have to be this song.”  Well, just as it would be, it turned out to be the PERFECT song for this moment.  “O, the deep deep love of Jesus….VAST, UNMEASURED, BOUNDLESS, FREE!  Rolling as a MIGHTY OCEAN in its fullness over me!  Underneath me, all around me, is the current of Thy love. Leading onward, leading homeward to Thy glorious rest above!”  WOW!!  As I looked at the water surrounding me on every side and listened to the words of the song, my heart overtook me and I found myself dancing wildly and freely ALL OVER the bow of the ship! If anyone was watching from the bridge of the ship, they probably feared that I was either going to massively wipe out or fall overboard!  And for a moment, I thought I might too.  But, thankfully, angels upheld me and I danced with all of my might with no one in sight!  All I felt were the eyes of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit gazing down with delight.  I just love the love of the Father…so jealous for those special moments with us and wanting them even more than we do. Even now, may all of His waves and breakers of love crash over you and overwhelm your soul! O the deep, deep love of Jesus, spread His praise from shore to shore!  How He loveth, ever...

Mighty Over Japan

It was such a beautiful sight as we sailed into the port in Nagasaki, Japan.  I was near tears as the crew members stood out on the deck displaying their country’s flag and waving at the people welcoming the ship into the port.  Although I didn’t have a country’s flag to hold, I felt prompted by the Lord to raise the banner that I painted specifically for Japan and to declare it over them.  As I painted the silk, the Lord revealed several things:  1. His blood speaks a better word over Japan.  2. He is coming to encompass Japan with His glory.   3. He is turning the hearts of the people from their sin to repentance and that they will join with all of heaven and declare “Holy Holy Holy is the Lord.”  It was with excitement that I held up the banner saying “Yes and Amen” to all that was in God’s heart for Japan, and expecting God to move in mighty ways during our time there.   It was the very next night that the Lord opened the door for me to be invited to a sold-out event with 300+ Japanese people and to witness God touching them in a powerful way!  They were worshiping, singing and praising God for who He was, and joy was on their faces. For the next two days, I was asking God to show me the person from Japan that I was supposed to give the silk to.  I had actually been asking that question the whole time I was on the ship, but it was getting down to the final hours and I still hadn’t met her.  And then, there she was…..sitting by herself in the dining room and I felt the nudge, “Ask her if she’s from Japan.”  So, I did, and as I began to share with her about the silk and its meaning, tears started filling this precious woman’s eyes.  She was actually not a crew member on the ship, but a visiting volunteer staying on the ship for a few days to help communicate with the locals in their own language.  She wept and wept as she told me that she didn’t know why she felt she was to sit at that table by herself or why when she prayed she could only say, “Holy Holy Holy” over and over, but now she knew.  Then, she told me how she’s actually going to the All Nations Prayer Room in Jerusalem in a few months….wow!  This woman was an intercessor with a deep heart for prayer and God hand-picked her to carry this banner of intercession for her nation.  She was overwhelmed with joy, and after getting a few pictures of us together, she began dancing, skipping, and spinning down the hallway with the banner in her hand.  It was a glorious sight!! The next morning, she was still beaming with joy and told me that she had “breakthrough” and had danced outside on deck 9 with freedom and boldness with the silk….something she had never done before.  The “shy Tomoko” was gone, and the new “bold Tomoko” had come forth declaring God’s goodness and glory! Our natural minds can’t conceive the things of God and how He works, but we can be confident that He sees and hears our prayers as His word declares in 2 Cor. 10:3,4 “For though we walk (live) in the flesh, we are not carrying on our warfare according to the flesh and using mere human weapons. For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and...
