Built on the Rock

Posted on Apr 24, 2014 in Blog Posts, Ministry, Prayer, Trips, Uncategorized

As I sat in the morning devotions that Tuesday morning, I became consumed by the sound of the crashing waves against the side of the vessel as we sat at the port in Hong Kong.  The reverberations blasted through the walls and through my body so fiercely and frequently, I seriously wondered if the ship could withstand the assaults.  Over and over again they came….each one louder than the next.  My mind kept imagining streams of water breaking through, and then what?  We’d be sunk.  “How are these things built anyway?” I thought.  My mind couldn’t comprehend it, and I thought how this is just like our lives.  The winds and waves of assault come crashing in over us again and again trying to discourage, defeat, and destroy us.  In and of ourselves, we are sunk.  But, the only thing that saves and sustains us is the One who built us and the One we built our lives on….Jesus Christ, the cornerstone.  He alone is the rock of our salvation.    “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many mighty works in Your name? 23 And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. 24 So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man who built his house upon the rock. 25 And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them will be like a stupid (foolish) man who built his house upon the sand. 27 And the rain fell and the floods came and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great and complete was the fall of it. Matthew 7:21-27 “On Christ the solid rock I stand.  All other ground is sinking sand.  All other ground is sinking...

A Heart Touched With Forgiveness

Posted on Apr 21, 2014 in Blog Posts, Dance, Innerhealing, Uncategorized

What an amazing night!!!  Today was my third day on the OM Logos Hope ship, and I got to join their Monday night worship night where 150-200 people gather to sing and worship for an hour.  The worship director had asked me to dance freely up front as the Spirit led and to come early to hear the music and prepare.  So, I did….but nothing could have prepared me for what happened afterwards.  As the worship leader began, he invited people to come up to the front, so 50+ young people swarmed the area, but the worship director was still insistent on having me up front, so she carved out a corner for me to dance.  I made it through the first couple of songs without colliding into any nearby person or wall, but when they started playing the “Oceans” song, I just couldn’t contain myself anymore and danced my way to the back where I could really have space to fully fly with the Holy Spirit 🙂  I ended up staying back there the rest of the night dancing over people, weaving in and out of them, and up and down the aisles releasing joy and freedom.  As one hour past, the people shouted for more, so the band kept going another hour, and by the end of the night the room had exploded in dance and praise over Hong Kong.  It was a beautiful sight, but, even that didn’t compare to what happened next….. A girl from Norway, who I’ll call Maria, asked if she could talk to me afterwards.  When we connected, she began to tell me what happened to her when she saw me dancing up front.  In essence she said, “When I saw you dancing up front, it reminded me of my mother when I was a little girl because she would always be dancing, all the time and everywhere.  But, now she is no longer with the Lord and hasn’t danced in years.  I’ve been angry with her and needing to forgive her for many things she did to me, but haven’t been able to.  But, when I saw you dancing I started weeping and knew I needed to forgive her.”  She went on for the next 20+ minutes sharing with me in great detail of the abuse, fear, sickness, and difficult things she had endured for years and how the Lord has been doing a deep work of healing and restoration in her life.  I was astounded at the powerful ways God had moved, and through tears of joy, was able to pray with her and ask for abundant grace for her to forgive her mom fully and for God to bring healing and restoration to her entire family.  It was stunning! I have a feeling that this is only “part one” of the story with Maria, and that even within the next two weeks of my time here that God has even more freedom for her heart as she tears down walls of fear and releases the dance inside of her.  Please pray for a mighty breakthrough of power to come and for God to do more than she could possibly ask, think, or imagine.  OUR GOD REIGNS!!!  LET THE HILLS BE GLAD,  LET THE PEOPLE REJOICE, AND LET THE CAPTIVES BE SET FREE!...

God Will Make A Way

It’s hard to believe that only 4 weeks ago I was invited to come on the Operation Mobilization’s Logos Hope ship to Hong Kong and Japan, and now I’M HERE!!!  My friends, Richard and Rachel Sharp, were going to minister/train the 400 crew members, and in passing one day at church asked me to go with them.  My heart immediately lept with excitement and wanted to go, but really didn’t think it would happen for all the usual reasons…..bad timing, too many other things going on, unknowns in financial provision, etc.  A week later on Thursday, March 20th, we sat in their dining room eating lunch together and just talking about the details of what the trip would entail.  That morning, I made a list of all of the “mountains” that had to be overcome for me to be able to go.  I seriously thought it was 90% “No,” but left the door cracked open the other 10% in case God wanted to make it happen.  Well, by the time lunch was over that day, mountains were moving and those numbers had flipped!  Now, I felt it was 90% “Yes” and only 10% “No.”  Several things still had to line up.  So, Richard, Rachel and I sat there at began to sing an old familiar song, “God will make a way where there seems to be no way. He works in ways we cannot see. He will make a way for me…..” Lo and behold in the next few days, the mountains crumbled one by one…. my passport got renewed and mailed back to me in only 5 days (instead of the expected 3 weeks), the expenses were covered for my flights and accommodation, I was accepted as a guest onto the ship for the needed time frame, I miraculously found the same flights as Richard and Rachel so we could travel together, and the list goes on….  God truly made a way where there seemed to be no way, and abundant blessings are following!! Be encouraged that no matter how many mountains appear to be standing in the way the path you are walking, God can turn the impossible into the possible!  2014 is the year of open doors and He is wanting us to “not close the doors that HE wants to open!”  Give Him room to do what He does best, and watch Him exceed all of your wildest expectations! 1 Cor. 2:9 – “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no heart has conceived, all that God has prepared for those who love...

Hope and Healing

I was so encouraged a few weeks ago when a woman came to my silk painting class and received major breakthrough and encounter from the Lord!  As we spoke over her silk and asked the Lord to show us what He was speaking, we saw this beautiful flower blooming in the desert with rains of refreshing coming down it.  The Lord gave us Isaiah 35 – “The desert and the parched land will be glad.  The wilderness will rejoice and blossom.  Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom.  It will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.“  Praise the Lord for His goodness!!  A week later, I received this email from her: Hello Michelle, I just finished watching your video \”Wreckage\” for a second time.  I found the video on your website and it touched me even more deeply. Thank you for sharing your story because it is what I have experienced for the last 20 years. It has given me hope because my greatest fears have been that I will have no place to live and no job in the future as I believe my husband is positioning himself to divorce me…. Thank you for the scarf painting ministry!  I wear the one I painted in your studio last week because it helps to remind me that God has a good future for me.  Just last night the worry and fear began to creep in and I placed my scarf near my head to remind me that God was near and everything will be o.k. It was a privilege to meet you, thank you for all you do to bring hope and healing....

Intercession Through Art

Posted on Apr 3, 2014 in Arts, Blog Posts, Prayer, Silks

In just a couple weeks, I’ll be on the OM Logos Hope ship and ministering among people from over 40 nations!  I’m preparing to take silks with me to leave with the people there, and one of the great privileges I have is to invite others to intercede for the nations through painting.  One friend asked me to paint a silk for Hong Kong for her and this is what the Lord put on my heart….to turn on the All Nations Prayer Room web stream (www.ihopkc.org) and listen to them sing in Chinese.  Before I ever started painting, I just soaked in the amazing worship with tears running down my face, and then felt the Lord give me this picture to paint for Hong Kong as they began singing “I am the rose, the joy for which you died.  And this I know, I move You with delight.  And when my heart condemns me on every side, I take refuge in the truth….I am the rose to You.”  It was so powerful as they sang it for over 20 minutes.  I was completely blown away while painting as I had never done a colored rose before, but Holy Spirit directed every stroke and color.   When thinking of how the Lord had also been speaking to me about being His rose, I just had the sense that we’re all the same. No matter the country, language or differences, we all have the same desires and needs….to be seen as beautiful and lovely.  And that is what we are….beautiful and perfect in God’s eyes.  Song of Sol....
